Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Welcome to ProseTool. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of prosetool.com (the "Site") and the free online tools we provide (the "Services"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Services

ProseTool provides free, browser-based writing and text utilities. You may use the Services for any lawful personal or commercial purpose, subject to these Terms. The tools run entirely in your browser; you are responsible for the content you process with them and for keeping your own copies of any important data.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or impair the Site, or to gain unauthorized access to any part of it or its underlying systems;
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the Site's design, code, or content in a way that competes with or misrepresents ProseTool;
  • Use automated systems to access the Site in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce in the same period;
  • Use the Site to process content that you do not have the right to process, or that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.

3. Your content

The text and other content you enter into our tools is processed entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to or stored by us. You retain all rights to your content, and we claim no ownership of it. Because we never receive your content, you are solely responsible for it and for complying with any laws or third-party rights that apply to it.

4. Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, layout, text, graphics, logos, and the software behind the tools, is owned by ProseTool and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Site without our prior written permission. The output you generate using the tools from your own input is yours to use freely.

5. Third-party links and advertising

The Site contains advertising and may link to third-party websites and services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your dealings with advertisers or third-party sites are solely between you and them. Please review the Privacy Policy for how cookies and advertising work on the Site.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result or output (such as a word count, readability score, or formatted text) will be accurate or suitable for your purposes. You use the Services at your own risk and should verify any output before relying on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProseTool and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Site or Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Changes to the Services and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or Services at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the Site at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Site in a way that could cause harm to us or other users. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the operator's place of business.

11. Contact
