About ProseTool
ProseTool is a free collection of 18 online writing and text utilities — a word counter, character counter, case converter, readability score checker, keyword density analyzer, JSON formatter, and more. Every tool is built to do one job well, load instantly, and respect your privacy.
What we do
Writers, students, marketers, and developers constantly need to count words, clean up messy text, change letter case, check how readable a draft is, or encode a string. Most of these jobs are tiny on their own, but the tools that handle them are often slow, cluttered with ads and pop-ups, or ask you to create an account just to paste in a paragraph. ProseTool exists to remove that friction. Open a page, paste your text, and get your result — no sign-up, no upload, no waiting.
Privacy by design
Every tool on ProseTool runs entirely inside your browser. Your text is processed on your own device using JavaScript on the page — it is never sent to a server, never stored, and never logged. When you close the tab, it's gone. This isn't a policy promise layered on top of a server; it's how the site is built. There is no backend to receive your content in the first place, which is exactly why these tools are safe to use with drafts, notes, code, and anything else you'd rather keep to yourself.
Built for speed
ProseTool is a fully static site. There are no heavy frameworks loading in the background and no servers to wake up, so pages appear almost instantly and the tools respond as fast as you can type. The whole experience is text- and CSS-based, which keeps it light on data and friendly to older devices and slow connections.
Free, and staying that way
All of our tools are free to use with no usage limits. ProseTool is supported by unobtrusive advertising, which lets us keep every tool available to everyone at no cost. We don't sell data, gate features behind a paywall, or require an account.
Who builds it
ProseTool is built and maintained by a small independent team that cares about clean, fast, no-nonsense web tools. We use these tools ourselves every day, and we add new ones and improve existing ones based on what people actually need.
